First off, they say to order up from a half-size, which I did. I got the 9. Then they say they are a relaxed fit, so I wondered if they might be a tad loose. They are, but had I gone down to an 8, they would have been too tight. With thick socks, they will be fine. So! The black is not black, it is more of charcoal grey, which is fine with me. I have black boots, and I like this color. The feel inside is heaven! SO cushy and comfy. The bottom sole is grooved and looks like it will help with slippery pavement. They will not stand up to wet snow or rain, however, so don't buy them if that is your intention. More for cold days without precipitation. The look is funky, but in a cute way. Would recommend these.

I purchased these boots Feb 2015 to have for the occasional snow and ice. When I wore them in the rain my feet got soaked. Thought that I had a defective pair but after speaking with customer service I found out that they are not water proof. So they definitely won't be useful in the snow.

I love these! I have never liked wearing boots because they are so heavy and clunky. I'd prefer to have wet, frozen feet. These are so incredibly light and flexible!! Yet they provide great traction. I've only got to wear them once so far but I'm looking forward to some more snow and rain so I can wear them again.

You can treat leathers, suedes and textiles with an aftermarket spray to make the article waterproof. But that does not make the whole shoe waterproof. We puncture the material with stitching which will allow water in, also, unless we have sealed the seams water can penetrate every place where two materials meet.
