TL;DR - The current image color of the Santa Cruz espresso on the site does not match the product (Dec 16, 2015). If this gets fixed, feel free to remove this review.
My first experience with Crocs was awesome. Picked up some black Athen flip flips and a pair of dark charcoal Santa Cruz. These lasted me for years and were the best investments in shoes I've ever made.
When it came to replace them I looked online and popped the black Athen's into my cart and then headed to the Santa Cruz page. The charcoal color wasn't listed but I noticed the "espresso" color they had listed was exactly the same as what I had so I added them to the cart and checked out.
When the package arrived I was so excited to try them out. As I opened the box and pulled out the shoes I became emotionally disorientated from the combination of excitement and anticipation to severe disappointment and disbelief. "This is not what I ordered" I thought staring
I immediately checked to make sure I ordered the right color - yup, it says "espresso". I logged back onto the site and looked at the Santa Cruz espresso shoe - it was exactly like the dark charcoal color of my old pair of Santa Cruz.
"What's going on?!" I thought. The ugly brown doesn't even exit on their website. I was putting together a bunch of screen shots to document and send Crocs to get this fixed. But where was this ugly brown coming from? I clicked the video almost on accident... BOOM! There it is in all its horribly ugly browness.... That is not what I ordered. I ordered the nice dark charcoal color that someone labeled as "espresso".
I'm currently in the process of returning the brown shoes. Please - updated the site images to match product inventory. This will decrease your returns.
Now, if you're read this long then you may be like me who has to read lots of reviews while doing your research for online shopping. I really hate that I have to return these since I had been waiting so long, but that's not the shoes fault.
If you're contemplating getting a pair - do it! Crocs are awesome. I only wish I didn't have to return these.
PS Let me know when you have the beautiful dark charcoal shoes in-stock.
Thanks

Peruse the reviews and examine the many comments that refer to the durability of the shoe at the big toe. I've purchased this shoe four times, as it's ridiculously comfortable, but I cannot do so anymore. The last Santa Cruz shoes that I purchased didn't last six months. Every single time, I've had one shoe (not both, oddly) wear out at the big toe. If I walked miles per day in them, over the course of several months, I could potentially understand that the shoes might not last. I do not. I typically use the shoes to walk around the house or the yard. I do find it telling that one of the two template "con" choices is "wear out quickly." Crocs apparently knows of the issue, yet seemingly relies upon fools like me to purchase four pairs before they finally learn their lesson. As I stated, the shoe is comfortable, even with the relatively new replacement sole (not as comfortable as the last one, but it lasts and is not as prone to odor. Crocs did a great job with this.) I do not like to simply complain without offering a solution to my complaints. However; the complaint, and its solution, is simple and self-explanatory. I cannot purchase again until I see that they have redesigned this. It really wouldn't take much time, much money, or much thought to do the right thing. I can only expect that it would serve the company well to treat one of its leading brands with the respect it initially built with similar quality and a fair price. Comments about Crocs Men's Santa Cruz:
excellent shoe but I would prefer the original flat smooth insert. I have about 10 pairs and swap out the rough insert for one of my older smooth inserts whenever I buy a new pair.
Comments about Crocs Men's Santa Cruz:
Most comfortable shoe I've every worn. This is my second pair. The first pair lasted years as my daily knock around shoe.

Comments about Crocs Men's Santa Cruz:
If there was a better way to "float" my way through a work day, then I don't know it. All I can tell you is the combination of this shoe insert with the sole design gives my 200-pound frame new legs. Thank you Crocs for this fantastic product.

Comments about Crocs Men's Santa Cruz:
Home run...bought two pair a year ago...wear them daily at home, at campground and everywhere else. I usually, machine wash weekly (both) at a minimum, and they have lasted. Just purchased my two pair for 2016. The canvas is comfortable and my feet do not hurt. Get them wet? Throw on the other pair and sit the wet ones in the sun. When I pack...I make sure I have my canvas crocs on with spare pair in the bag. Hope they never get rid of canvas crocs 101.

Q:
Why can't I order size 12?Asked on 11/30/2015 by Suzanne from Tulsa, OK1 answer
A:
We are currently out of stock of Men's Santa Cruz in Size 12. We are receiving more inventory at the end of December. Please check back then! This style is on promotion so we have sold through a lot of units over the past couple weeks.Answered on 12/11/2015 by Coachella
Q:
Are the slip resistant solesAsked on 11/3/2015 by Dave1 answer
A:
The Men's Santa Cruz do not feature special slip-resistant tread. Certain Crocs shoes offer CrocsLock tread, which provides slip-resistance that exceeds industry standards. Please note that while they are slip resistant, they are not completely slip proof. Please use general caution as you would in any other shoe. You can see a collection of slip-resistant styles here: http://www.crocs.com/c/shop-by/activity/slip-resistant-shoes.Answered on 11/3/2015 by Wonderful Wanda from Crocs
Q:
How do I clean themAsked on 11/1/2015 by Peter from Staten Island New York1 answer
A:
You can clean your Crocs with cold water and mild soap, and let them air dry. I would suggest not putting them in the dishwasher or washing machine, as this may damage the shoes.Answered on 11/2/2015 by Helpful Heather from Crocs
Q:

I wear a 9 1/2 shoe. Would you advise that I go to a 9 or 10 for the Santa Cruz. I have an average width foot as well.
Thank you

A:
We suggest for this style that you order down to the next smallest whole size. I would go with the size 9.Answered on 10/7/2015 by Helpful Heather from Crocs
Q:
Do you have the light grey/charcoal in size 14?Ordered earlier this month and got email saying they were out of stock.Asked on 9/21/2015 by Wes from Lafayette, LA1 answer
A:
While we are currently out of stock in the size 14 in the light grey/charcoal color option, additional stock is expected to be added around December.Answered on 9/22/2015 by Helpful Heather from Crocs
Q:
My husband loves these in the SOLID CHARCOAL color but we can never seem to find them. Are these still available?Asked on 9/12/2015 by Ashley from United States1 answer
A:
Unfortunately we are not expecting additional color options to be added in this style any time soon, including that of a solid charcoal. We are carrying the light gray/charcoal color option in this style, and a variety of other grey color choices in other loafer styles. You can see those here: http://www.crocs.com/c/men/footwear/loafers#&origin=category&srule=CatPosition-SearchPlacement-Revenue7day-BVRating-BVReviews&start=0&sz=12&prefn1=variationSize&prefv1=&prefn2=refinementColor&prefv2=Gray.Answered on 9/14/2015 by Helpful Heather from Crocs
Q:
Are they oil resistant? I need some that I can use in the kitchen. If not, what croc shoes are good to work in the kitchenAsked on 9/3/2015 by Chivo from Palestine, Tx1 answer
A:
Because the Santa Cruz is made with canvas uppers, they may not be a great choice for working around oil. The material may stain. Any of our fully molded Croslite options, like many of our clogs, may work better for you in the kitchen. These styles are water resistant and can be washed very easily. In addition, the material will not stain like the canvas.Answered on 9/3/2015 by Helpful Heather from Crocs
Q:
What happened to the molded version of this shoe I've had a pair for about 3 yrs now and I need another pair is there anyway I can get my hands on some that yall might have in the warehouse or something cannot find them anywhereAsked on 8/27/2015 by dustin from Crosby tx1 answer
A:
We do not have a fully molded Croslite loafer at this time. We do have a Men's Beach Line Boat Slip-on style currently that features a Croslite footbed and is designed after that model. You can see this here: http://www.crocs.com/p/crocs-mens-beach-line-boat-slip-on/15386.html?cgid=men-footwear-loafers&cid=46K#&origin=category&srule=CatPosition-SearchPlacement-Revenue7day-BVRating-BVReviews&start=10&sz=22&prefn1=variationSize&prefv1=&prefn2=refinementColor&prefv2=&prefn3=fitGuideFit&prefv3=.Answered on 8/27/2015 by Helpful Heather from Crocs
Q:
These are becoming harder to find. Are they being discontinued?Asked on 8/22/2015 by Matt1 answer
A:
This style is not being discontinued. Additional stock is expected to be added throughout September and October.Answered on 8/24/2015 by Helpful Heather from Crocs
