I have a very wide and long foot (12W in womens) and I bought these when I was teaching swim lessons one summer a couple of years ago. They are Very comfortable, even in the arch. I have higher arches and cannot wear most flip flops, but I loved these. As with other reviews, I have 2 different sizes in the 2 different colors I own. Ended up giving the black ones to my husband because they were too big, but the chocolate/blue ones fit great. My biggest complaint is that the bottoms wear out much much faster than the rest of the crocs shoe and no longer have any grip so they become VERY slippery if near water.

The very first pair of Crocs I owned was the original Athens flip flop over 10 years ago. The Athens is my go to style: I wear them daily as house shoes, change to a different pair or color to wear to work or run errands --- they are the standard. As a lady with wide, long feet, I could always depend on the Athens to fit. Sadly, that has now changed. I just received my first 2 pairs of the redesigned Athens in the mail, and wow, what a difference. They are almost 1.5" shorter, almost 1" narrower, and much thinner from top to bottom than a brand new pair of Athens I got at the end of last summer and was saving when it appeared Crocs was getting rid of the Athens all together. There does seem to be an increase in heel padding (always a good thing!), but instead of the comfortable fit I'm used to, I now have the same "foot almost hanging off the back and sides" battle I have constantly fought with other brands of shoes. I have read the other "these shoes are too wide" reviews from the last month and I don't agree. Over the past 2 years, it has seemed that Crocs is abandoning those of us who helped bring them to the party: customers with wide feet who have trouble finding shoes to fit. PLEASE don't forget about us wide foot ladies!

Comments about Crocs Athens:
AWESOME. Crocs will always be my flip flop store. I love to wear sandals in the summer and have been disappointed with allot of typical sandal styles. This flip flop is over the top and truly is very very comfortable. Thanks CROCS!
Comments about Crocs Athens:
I have had several pairs of the Athens style Crocs. I can wear them all day long and my legs do not get tired.
Pros
- Heel very very comfortable
Cons
- Unstylish/Unfashionable
- Very Very wide, looks like a mans sandal
Best Uses
- Wear Everywhere
Comments about Crocs Athens:
I ordered these because I have Plantar Facitius and I need a cushioned heel. Although these are very comfortable I just cant get over the width of these and the fact they look like a mans sandal. I debated whether or not to return them or just wear them around the house, and I am returning. I will look for something else a little more like a womans sandal but with the cushioned heel. Be careful to make sure you view the sandal from top looking down so to see the width and understand before you buy.

Comments about Crocs Athens:
Love these, I have tile floors and Athens Flip Flops save my feet from the pain of walking on tile all day. Great for beach and pool also.
Comments about Crocs Athens:
Pure heaven for my feet
Comments about Crocs Athens:
These Athens fit great and are comfortable. My only disappointment is that they don't have more arch support. My very first pair had great arch/instep support and I haven't been able to find a pair since that has the same amount!
Comments about Crocs Athens:
This shoe is so comfortable. I love wearing it. I didn't give it a 5 because the toe posts are a little big. But they have not rubbed any blisters, and I think I'm getting used to them. They are very well made. I'm gonna order a couple more pairs in other colors. There are also nice and wide. Fit me perfectly!
Comments about Crocs Athens:
I have really wide feet and was very disappointed last year with 2 of the croc flip flops I ordered because they ran so small. Then I realized the had 3 different "fits". these were nice and roomy and very comfortable. the only reason I won't give them a "5" is because they are not very attractive.
Comments about Crocs Athens:
Been several years since my last crocs. I hurt my foot and it's been difficult to find something that didn't cause it to ache. I remembered how comfortable these slippers were and drove out to the local croc store. It's not really that close, but after a couple months of limping around, I was ready to try something different. After checking out the different models, there was no discussion, this classic was still an awesome fit and super "cushiony". It's hard to improve on something so right!
It's been awesome! A couple weeks now and it's given me enough relief that my foot is almost fully healed.
I'm a slippers man and usually wear Reefs or Quicksilvers. I think the only reason I stopped wearing these is because my size was hard to find. Crocs are not usually noted for their fashion but this model looks fine. The comfort and fit is absolutely unmatched. I'm glad I came back to these. I also recall these slippers last a really long time compared to conventional slippers. Maybe not so great for Crocs but a big bonus to consumers. Super happy with these!

A:
This style is offered in our roomy fit option, which is designed to provide a little extra room around the entire foot for comfort. I suggest going with the same size you currently wear in other styles. In this case, I would go with the size 7. The Athens style is offered in both men's and women's sizes.Answered on 9/11/2015 by Helpful Heather from Crocs
