Don't get wet
I am not sure what "water friendly" is supposed to mean. I thought it meant these flip flops could get wet without turning into a smelly, stink mess. Not the case with these. Where them in the tropics where it rains every day and you will regret your purchase. The upper material quickly starts to smell when wet and unable to dry completely. Very comfortable and I have no issues with these if you can keep them dry all the time. Very comfortable.

Don't get wet
The description makes one think these were designed to be around water and handle getting wet. I spent 30 days in the Philippines during rainy season. It did not take long for the strap material to mildew and hold the smell. These would be great anywhere you know they will always stay dry. They are very comfortable to wear, but I will never again stray from the original Croc flip-flop design again.
